The future perfect looks forward to a time when an action will have taken place:
- Cuando llegues ya habré terminado de reparar tu coche.
(When you arrive, I will have already repaired your car.)
The future perfect also describes actions or events that will happen before another action. Since we are talking about what will have happened in the future, we use the future tense of the helping verb "haber":
- Jaime habrá terminado de estudiar antes de las cinco de la tarde.
(Jaime will have finished studying before five o´clock in the afternoon.)

We also use the future perfect to express probability in the recent past:
- ¿Quién habrá llamado por teléfono?
(Who could have called on the phone?)
- Javier no contesta el teléfono. Tal vez se habrá dormido.
(Javier does not answer the phone. Perhaps he has fallen asleep.)
We also use the future perfect to question the reality of a past action:
- El habrá obtenido buenas notas pero no es un buen estudiante.
(He might have gotten good grades, but he is not a good student.)
- Laura habrá bajado de peso pero no se nota.
(Laura might have lost weight but it is unnoticeable.)
